Austin D.

SSSC Team:
Career Team

Hey guys, my name is Austin but if you want you can call me A-Town. This is my second year as a mentor at the SSSC, and whether it be sports or school I love teaching and helping others out. I am entering my third year in a double major in Chemistry and Physics with a minor in Philosophy. I like physics because it is the most fundamental level of everything around us, and chemistry is just the application of physics. Philosophy because it is the most basic form of logic, aka "How To Think", and everything you do in life should involve some degree of thinking! I am involved in the Carleton Ski and Snowboard Club and coach freestyle skiing in the winter. I sometimes attend the Chess club meetings, and I love rap music. I am also a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity, which was a cool way for me to get more involved on campus and build leadership skills. I was initially a 'ghost' on campus, but found ways to get involved and this has greatly improved my experience at carleton. I managed to get a job working on the DEAP 3600 Dark Matter Experiment for this summer, so I am super excited to start on that. Don' be afraid to try new things, it could surprise you!

University can be hard, but don't worry, come by and we will do our best to help you out

Peace.
