We believe that the Science Students Success Centre is the hub of the Faculty of Science. We connect students with each other, with faculty and staff, and with professionals in computer science, health sciences, math and science career fields. We believe that establishing trust and having open, honest conversations is the key to helping students reach their full potential. We choose the best students in the Faculty of Science to join the SSSC team and we hold them to the highest possible standards of professionalism and integrity. We challenge our team members to take creative risks, to collaborate, to lead, and to push their limits in order to positively impact the lives of individuals and of the Faculty of Science community as a whole.
The SSSC has a one-word mission: elevate! This is done in tons of ways - by running workshops that help students learn about how to get into medical and other health-related schools, by mentoring students one-on-one and pushing them to set goals and benchmark their success, and by bringing in speakers to help Faculty of Science students get connected to careers. Our student volunteers are in charge of identifying ways in which we can better serve students within the Faculty of Science and then helping us to provide the best services possible.
