SSSC Team:
Career Team

Hey folks, my name is Ian Beitz. I am a fourth year Earth Science (Honours) student. I’m originally from a small town in Ontario called Mildmay. I currently work for the Geological Survey of Canada. I have a great deal of experience in the natural sciences, as well as finding jobs in the resources field, and how to network in a professional setting. I am doing a thesis this year in diamond geology and hope to someday work as exploration geologist.

I am a member of Carleton’s geological society and involved in the faculty of Earth Science’s outreach programs. I also love traveling and have done humanitarian work in Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. I organise my own intramural hockey team at Carleton. In my spare time I enjoy walking, skiing, spending time with friends and wide variety of other sports.

This is my second year as a mentor with the SSSC and excited to be part of the SSSC team. I am looking forward to chatting with you all and helping out in any way I can.
