Hello? Is it me you’re looking for?
I’m Kshamina (with a silent K, shuh-mee-nuh)! I am a 3rd year Software Engineering student, working towards a minor in Business.
I came into this program knowing nothing about coding which is why I am stoked to be returning as a Mentor at the SSSC, as well as being a Co-Coordinator for our new Computer Science team! We have big plans to provide more interactive support to CS students, so stay tuned for events, workshops and more!
I believe coding requires a different type of thinking which is why it can be discouraging when you first start learning. You have to problem solve and you may have to try many solutions before you get one that actually works. I used to find it very overwhelming when I couldn’t find the answer right away, but, the satisfaction of getting your code to work just makes you want to dance/scream (which I have done numerous times in the lab).
I had a really hard time adjusting to university life in first year, but it’s gotten so much better, so if you need anything at all, I am here to help you with your personal predicaments, study schedules and whatever else you could need my assistance with!
P.S. This summer, I will be working at Akamai Technologies for a 4-month co-op term working as a Software Engineer which is going to be SO COOL.
