Hi there! My name is MaryAnn and am currently a third year Neuroscience Combined Honours student. The SSSC has been a huge part of my undergraduate career since the beginning. From being a first year representative to a mentor, I am so excited to continue working with such an amazing group of people for the third year in a row as a mentor again.
The summer of my first year, I was awarded a Dean’s Summer Research Internship (DSRI) and was fortunate enough to work in Dr. Sue Bertram’s lab examining the behavioural ecology of field crickets. This summer I am happy to say that I’m heading back to spend some more time with my cricket friends while also working towards a minor in Computer Science.
When I’m not in school, you can find me attempting to twist myself in to a pretzel (i.e. doing yoga), sketching and doodling, jamming out to music, and binge reading books (Call me crazy, but I’m currently trying to break my "all 7 HP books in 4 days" record).
I know that university can be daunting, especially if you’re struggling to find your ‘calling', but I highly recommend keeping an open mind and trying anything/ everything. You really never know what you’ll find! I’m looking forward to this coming school year and feel free to get in touch if you have any question or just want to chat!
