Career Team

Hi everyone, my name is Shannon and I’m entering my third year of environmental science with a minor in biology, and I’m from right here in Ottawa. This is my first year with the SSSC and I’m very excited to get involved an help out.

In my first year I was fortunate enough to receive a Dean’s Summer Research Internship and worked under Steven Cooke doing research on fish biology ecology and conservation biology. I will be returning to the Cooke lab in the summer of 2016 with an NSERC grant. I look forward to applying these experiences and helping others succeed in the research field; its so much fun and very rewarding!

In my spare time, I am involved with the Environmental Science Student Association as a co-president, and have volunteered as a fall orientation facilitator. I am also an active member of Alpha Pi Phi sorority, which has provided me with valuable leadership skills. Getting involved in clubs is the best way to meet people and I highly recommend it.

If you ever have any questions, feel free to swing by the SSSC and I’ll be happy to help!
